May 26, 2010, The City of Erie’s Street Improvement Program for the 2010 Construction Season was announced by Mayor Sinnott at a press conference this morning. Improvements will include milling and asphalt resurfacing of curbed and non-curbed asphalt streets, crack sealing and resurfacing of concrete streets, asphalt patching, general crack sealing, curb damage repairs and painting of traffic lines and crosswalks. In addition, Bureau of Streets daily operations such as street sweeping, installation of street signs, street light surveys, alley repairs and pothole patching will continue. May 20, 2010, Mayor Sinnott announced at a 10:30 AM press conference this morning, the City of Erie will close the McBride Viaduct (East Avenue Bridge) between East 12th Street and East 19th Street on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. At this time, the closing shall be considered temporary to complete the final evaluation of the bridge and to determine its disposition. May 20, 2010, In order to increase the number of parking spaces in the downtown area, various downtown planning studies completed over the last several years have included a recommendation to consider back-in angle parking adjacent to Perry Square on both North and South Park Row. In the coming weeks, the City of Erie will implement a trial run of the back-in angle parking on North Park Row, between Peach and State Streets. Click here for the complete press release.
